During the evening, Verst Carbon’s CEO and Co-founder, Brian Nyangena, delivered a brief keynote address, sharing the journey of Verst Carbon.

“We are creating an integrated carbon markets technology enabler focused on removing barriers that hinder Africa’s participation in carbon markets. Our solution is centered around four key pillars: innovative financing for carbon project development; dMRV to address verification and validation capacity constraints; community revenue repatriation and governance; and disintermediation of carbon markets through direct marketplace access,” he explained.

Evans Kayo, Chief Operating Officer at Verst Carbon, then took guests through the platform and showcased data from a cookstove demo set up on location. He shared that their new dMRV platform aims to reach small-scale carbon developers who would otherwise find it difficult to access and afford a platform that allows them to:

• Monitor their carbon offset
• Provide a comprehensive report on their electric cookstoves on a single platform
• Connect them to a carbon buyer
• Trade transparently in the carbon markets

Guests then freely interacted with the Verst Carbon team and explored the platform while continuing to network until closing.
