The Nairobi Climate Network was founded by Héloïse Zimmermann and Flavia Howard in Hélo’s living room in Kileleshwa at the end of 2021. For the first year the network grew organically and exclusively through word-of-mouth, and quickly the living room was replaced by Nairobi’s coolest bars and venues!

Héloïse Zimmermann
Co-founder
Héloïse Zimmermann is a carbon and climate finance professional based in Nairobi and Kilifi, she also leads Komaza’s carbon program, working on the development of new nature-based carbon projects in Kenya.

Flavia Howard
Co-founder
Strategy – Climate – Enterprise
Flavia is the co-Founder of the Nairobi Climate Network. She also led CAP-A’s engagement with the Africa Climate Summit in 2023. Flavia was previously the Global Climate & Environment Practice Manager at Dalberg, a social impact consultancy firm based in Nairobi, and led the High Level Climate Champion’s work on Mainstreaming Resilience at COP28. She previously worked for Accenture Strategy in London and ran a climate-start up in Rwanda.
