Networking Event - Open Networking Happy Hour
5th October, 2023: NCN hosted an Open Networking Happy Hour at the Vanguard Lounge in Westlands. This gathering provided an engaging platform for professionals from diverse climate action industries to connect, share insights, and forge meaningful relationships in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
Professionals representing a wide array of sectors gathered at the Vanguard Lounge. To help connect members with others who share similar interests, we introduced a new ‘topical code’ system at the event. On arrival, members selected a coloured dot for their name badge to represent a specific area of climate change. They could then search the event for people with matching ‘codes’ to spark discussions around similar interest areas. These included:
- Energy and Industry
- Urbanization, Buildings, and Transport
- Land and Nature
- Climate Finance and Carbon Markets
- Events such as COP28
We’re planning to introduce some of these themes into our WhatsApp community groups to better focus topical daily discussions across the network.
We enjoyed seeing shared experiences and heated discussion amongst our members. Thank you to all who joined and made it a memorable evening.
