Public Notice Regarding Lawrence Hastings Sogoh
Statement from Nairobi Climate Network together with the Carbon Markets Association of Kenya
It has come to our attention that Lawrence Hastings Sogoh has been falsely representing himself as the ‘Country Coordinator’ for the Carbon Markets Association of Kenya (CAMAK). This is in addition to fraudulently selling tickets to the Nairobi Climate Network (NCN) event, ‘NCN’s Carbon Summit’ last week, without possessing any legitimate tickets for sale.
We want to make it unequivocally clear that Lawrence Hastings Sogoh does not represent either the Nairobi Climate Network or the Carbon Markets Association of Kenya. He has no authority to sell tickets to our events or to collect any admission fees on our behalf. He is not an elected official of CAMAK and is not involved with our organisation in any capacity. He has been ejected as a member of the Nairobi Climate Network as a result of his actions.
If Mr. Sogoh contacts you regarding joining NCN, CAMAK or asks for any form of admission fee, we urge you to alert us immediately so we can take appropriate action. Please be aware that any transactions or communications with him regarding NCN or CAMAK are not legitimate and should be reported to us without delay.
We have already issued a direct cease and desist order to Mr. Sogoh. However, given that he has escalated this matter further, we are now investigating additional legal actions to address his fraudulent activities.
Please send all fraud alerts to [email protected].
